In this regard, informed real estate sources stressed the importance of fully adhering to the applicable laws and regulations in the process of buying and selling real estate. She also stressed the need to take into account the sensitivity of the regions and the delicate circumstances that the country is going through, and pointed out that the current stage is witnessing an escalation in indicators of anxiety, which has negatively reflected on the public mood and social relations, as some groups have begun to feel suspicious of each other in the absence of prior knowledge, which creates an atmosphere of tension.
Regarding the controversy surrounding suspicious real estate activities in the Mount Lebanon regions, the sources explained that they do not have accurate or confirmed information in this regard, and they cannot go into names or make direct accusations, stressing the need to deal with this information with the utmost caution.
She also pointed out that the general state of anxiety prevailing in the country is now affecting various sectors, especially the real estate sector, as any association with “Hezbollah” has become a source of sensitivity for a wide segment of the Lebanese. She warned that any ill-considered action, including selling real estate to people believed to be connected to the party, could exacerbate tensions among citizens, stressing that the situation is extremely sensitive and requires the utmost wisdom to avoid reaching a stage that is difficult to control or contain its repercussions.
Regarding the real estate market situation, the sources indicated that the sector is witnessing a state of clear stagnation, especially in the southern regions where real estate movement has completely stopped, with a noticeable slowdown in other regions. Buyers are demanding price reductions in light of the current security and economic conditions linked to the repercussions of the war, while some sellers prefer to wait and postpone sales until the picture becomes clearer, which increases the stagnation of the real estate market and the decline in investment activity in general.
