From Manama to Beirut... Raji brings the arms control issue back to the forefront of discussion

During his participation in the twenty-second session of the “Manama Dialogue” in Bahrain, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Yousef Raji confirmed that the Lebanese government is continuing with its decisions related to restricting weapons, stressing that there is “no going back” from them, and explaining that armed organizations are obstructing the completion of their implementation despite their courageous nature.

On the sidelines of the conference, Minister Raji held a meeting with the diplomatic advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Anwar Gargash, where the current conditions in Lebanon and the region and the challenges associated with the rapid developments were discussed.

At the headquarters of the Lebanese Embassy in Manama, Raji met with members of the Lebanese community at the invitation of Ambassador Hadi Hashem, who praised his career. The minister responded by stressing that achieving stability is a basic condition for attracting investments and advancing the Lebanese economy.

Raji renewed his condemnation of the attacks on the Gulf countries, praising the vital role of the Lebanese community in supporting the steadfastness of their families through financial transfers, and calling on them to always stand by their embassy, which “has returned to being Lebanese.”

The Minister concluded his visit with a direct meeting with members of the community, during which he listened to their concerns and demands, and received broad support for his sovereign and reform positions.
