Three million dollars to trap him: Behind the scenes of a kidnapping and transporting him through the Syrian embassy to Damascus

Intelligence information collected from independent sources showed serious suspicions about the involvement of the Turkish intelligence service, in coordination with its Syrian counterpart, in the kidnapping of the leader of the “Popular Front for the Liberation of Iskenderun Brigade,” Ali al-Kayyali, from his home in the Mansouriya area in Mount Lebanon, and his subsequent transfer to Syrian territory, in a story that contradicts the official story announced by Damascus regarding his arrest.

Field suspicions centered around Ibrahim Al-Jassim, a Syrian national who holds a Turkish passport, as data indicate his connection to Turkish intelligence and his extensive activity among Syrian opposition groups and even Lebanon, with the aim of collecting accurate information about Al-Kayyali’s place of residence and his movements, using financial inducements represented by promoting the Turkish authorities’ offering a reward of three million dollars for anyone who leads to his location.

In the details of the operation, the sources reported that an unidentified security group lured Al-Kayali’s son and kidnapped him to extract information about his father’s headquarters, before taking him to the family home in Mansouriya, where members of the group handcuffed Al-Kayali’s wife and kidnapped him to an unknown destination.

Data suggest that Al-Kayyali was transferred immediately after his kidnapping to the Syrian embassy building in the nearby Yarzeh area, amid suspicions that cars bearing Syrian diplomatic license plates were being used to smuggle him from the diplomatic headquarters across the border into Syrian territory, which contradicts the announcement of the official Syrian News Agency (SANA) about his arrest inside Syrian territory.

These data open the door to serious questions about the violation of Lebanese sovereignty and the implementation of an organized security operation outside legal frameworks, especially with regard to the identity of the implementing group, the method of transportation via diplomatic cars, and the suspicious role of Ibrahim Al-Jassim, which requires the opening of a serious official Lebanese investigation to uncover the full truth.
