Israeli army spokeswoman Ella Wawiyeh announced, through her account on the “X” platform, that a large military maneuver will be launched on Monday in the city of Eilat and Wadi Araba, led by the 80th Division.
Wawiya said: “A large-scale security forces maneuver led by the 80th Division is scheduled to begin on Monday in the area of the city of Eilat and Wadi Araba, to be preceded, starting on Sunday, by intense movements of security forces, along with naval vessels and aircraft.”
She added: “During the exercise, the forces will train in a number of scenarios, most notably dealing with a surprise attack and invading Israeli territory by air, sea, and land. The level of protection of the various towns and the Eilat city area will also be tested, in addition to the readiness of the forces and their ability to harness air and sea capabilities to enhance protection in the region.”
She continued: “The maneuver also includes training on cooperation between various forces, including the Israeli police and Magen David Adom, in addition to coordination between the ground forces, the air force, and the naval forces operating in the region.”
She pointed out that “the maneuver comes within the framework of an ongoing process to raise the level of efficiency and readiness, and to test the application of lessons learned from the fighting and security events that the country has witnessed in recent years.”
She added: “Last week, the Golan Heights region witnessed a maneuver aimed at raising the level of readiness to deal with sudden and complex attacks, within the framework of testing the forces’ ability to confront different scenarios in a regular and organized manner.”
She concluded: “It was decided in advance to implement this maneuver within the training plan of the Operations Authority for the year 2026.”
