The US Central Command (Centcom) announced that its forces continue to impose the naval blockade on Iran, revealing that 92 commercial ships changed their course until September 6, as part of US measures aimed at ensuring compliance with the blockade.
Centcom explained that the American forces disabled 3 ships and searched two ships, in addition to changing the course of dozens of commercial ships.
In parallel, a US Air Force F-35A stealth fighter is patrolling over territorial waters, in conjunction with the continuation of US Central Command operations in the region.
Centcom had previously announced the destruction of 3 oil tankers belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, after targeting two US Navy warships.
According to Central Command, on September 5, US forces launched air strikes on three Iranian crude oil tankers, after the Iranian Revolutionary Guard launched ballistic missiles towards two American warships that were patrolling territorial waters.
Centcom said that an American aircraft carrier and a guided missile destroyer were able to avoid several Iranian attacks, confirming that there were no casualties among the American forces.
This comes in light of the escalation of the maritime confrontation between Washington and Tehran, with the continuation of the American blockade and tightening control over the movement of ships, in conjunction with the exchange of targets in the waters of the Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
