US Vice President J.D. Vance escalated his tone towards Iran, linking any return to talks to stopping targeting ships, and stressing that all options are still on the table, from economic, military and diplomatic pressure to secret operations.
Vance said that Washington will not hold talks with Iran unless it stops firing at ships, warning that not protecting navigation in the Strait of Hormuz will lead to a catastrophic global energy crisis, because, according to him, no other party will be able to carry out this task.
He added that the United States has many additional tools at its disposal, and that President Donald Trump will use some of them against Iran, stressing that all options are on the table.
Vance pointed out that 15 million barrels of oil crossed the Strait of Hormuz last night thanks to the United States, explaining that his country is currently protecting a large number of ships, which, according to him, has prevented a global energy crisis.
He stressed that Washington is pressuring Iran to prevent it from firing at commercial ships, while acknowledging that it will continue to try to do so.
He said that the United States struck Iran to prevent it from possessing a nuclear weapon, as well as to protect commercial shipping traffic and avoid a global energy crisis.
Regarding combat operations, Vance stressed that the United States does not target civilians and will never do so, stressing that it has never done so before.
He added that the Iranians are losing their capabilities day after day, considering that the current rise in gasoline prices is due to Iran’s shooting at commercial cargo ships.
He concluded by stressing that the United States is the only country that has the ability to ensure the continuity of energy supplies in global markets.
