Gold prices fell today, Tuesday, as traders assessed the tension in the Middle East and awaited important data on the US labor market to be issued this week, which may shape expectations regarding the monetary policy of the Federal Reserve.

Gold fell in instant transactions by 0.4% to $4,428.54 per ounce by 04:32 GMT, after recording in the previous session its lowest levels since August 19. US gold futures fell 0.1 percent to $4,477.20 an ounce.

Important US data this week include job vacancy numbers, the employment report issued by ADP, and non-farm payrolls data, which will be subject to scrutiny in search of indicators regarding the health of the labor market and the path of interest rates, according to Reuters.
