Vice President of the party’s Political Council, Mahmoud Qamati, confirmed that the party decided to give the political path a chance to reach Israeli withdrawal, stressing that any new attempt at Israeli military advance will be faced with a firm stance.
Qamati said that the party is studying all options related to the Ali Al-Taher Hill file, noting that this file is still being followed up in light of the field and political developments in the south.
Qamati added that there is no Iranian fighter in the party’s ranks in southern Lebanon, denying the presence of Iranian elements within the party’s formations in the region.
Regarding the relationship with the United States, Qamati said that the party is not completely closing the door on the possibility of direct communication with America, in light of the issues at hand and the rapid political developments.
Qamati’s statements come at a time when the political process related to the situation in southern Lebanon continues, amid research into mechanisms for stabilizing the calm, Israel’s withdrawal, and addressing the outstanding issues through political channels.
