The Beirut and Mount Lebanon Water Corporation announced that it was forced to cut off water to a number of areas, after a main line feeding the Burj Abu Haidar reservoir was severely damaged as a result of excavation work in a construction workshop adjacent to one of its stations in Sin El Fil.
The Corporation explained, in a statement, that on August 19, 2026, excavation work carried out by a construction workshop adjacent to its second station in the Sin El Fil area caused severe damage to a 1,200 mm diameter water line, which feeds the Burj Abu Haidar reservoir.
It indicated that it will immediately begin the necessary repair work, which will force it to cut off water from the main Dbayeh pumping station, and thus from the areas fed by the Burj Abu Haidar and Tallet El Khayyat stations, and the areas fed by the Antelias, Jal El Dib, Al Jadida, Zaarour and Dekwaneh stations, in addition to the areas fed by the Hazmieh reservoir.
The Corporation confirmed that it will redistribute water according to the usual program as soon as the repair work is completed, noting that the workshops will work day and night without interruption until they are completed.
