The match between Wales and Belgium in the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup was stopped, after a “mouse” invaded the floor of Cardiff City Stadium, in an incident that sparked a wave of laughter among the players and fans.

At the 66th minute of the match, those present were surprised by a small mouse running onto the field, which prompted the referee to temporarily stop play, while Welsh star Brennan Johnson, with the help of Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, tried to get him out of the green rectangle, but their attempts were unsuccessful at first.

After a short chase amid an atmosphere of laughter and applause, the mouse left the field, and the match resumed amid the smiles of the players and fans.

Despite the unusual incident, the Belgian team decided the confrontation in its favor with a score of 4-2, continuing to lead Group Ten with 14 points, one point ahead of North Macedonia, while Wales stagnated at 10 points in third place.
