UNDP launches the sustainable use of resources after the war

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) launched today, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and the General Directorate of Civil Planning, “Manual for Planning Sustainable Use of Resources after the War”, with funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), and under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and the General Directorate of Civil Planning.
A statement issued by the program indicated that this guide constitutes a practical tool that provides planners and decision makers a road map for reconstruction more wisely, safely and sustainable, especially in rural areas that have been severely affected by the war. The guide focuses on protecting cultural heritage, restoring environmental balance, and ensuring fair use of resources and services, while placing local communities at the heart of the decision -making process. It also represents a practical reference for government institutions, municipalities, humanitarian partners and technical professionals, as it helps to avoid reconstruction in random ways or adopting temporary solutions, and ensures a balance between urgent recovery needs and the long -term development goals.
