Two years of fire… Gaza tells the unbearable

Two years after the Israeli war on Gaza, tragedies do not leave the hearts and minds of the residents of the Gaza Strip, as displaced people narrated to Al Jazeera Live the most difficult things they have experienced since October 7, 2023.
The displaced person, Munawra Muhammad, said: “These two years were the most difficult in my life, during which we lost loved ones, relatives, and neighbors.”
She added: “One of the most difficult things I have seen is when an entire building collapsed on top of its residents in an Israeli bombing. I saw with my own eyes the body parts of children, women, and the elderly.”
As for the displaced woman, Rida Musleh, she spoke about the tragedy of losing her father and sister in a bombing that targeted their house. She said: “We took out my father’s body with difficulty from under the rubble. As for my sister, we searched for her and did not find her until we discovered that she was in the mortuary.”
For his part, the displaced person, Jihad Muhammad, said that the most difficult situation he went through was when the occupation targeted a group of people who were walking in front of his house with a missile, adding: “The missile turned them into pieces in front of my eyes.”
He continued: “Because of the intensity of the bombing, everyone who was in the place fled, while we heard the cries of the injured asking for help, but no one was able to reach them.” The cruelty of the tents. In this context, the displaced woman, Jamalat Wahda, spoke about the suffering of displacement and the harsh living conditions in the tents, saying: “The tents do not protect against the cold of winter or the heat of summer, and on top of that, I lost my son who was martyred in an Israeli bombing, and I could not find any. His body remains to this day, and I have not been able to say goodbye to him or bury him.”
The displaced Rami Jaber, who helps shroud the martyrs inside the refrigerators, said: “The scenes that do not leave my memory are the infants who are brought to the refrigerator, and the screams and cries of their grieving mothers… a very, very painful scene.”
As for the child, Adam Mohamadeen, he said: “The most difficult two years we have passed… They bombed our house and we were displaced. They even took us out of school, and we could not find bread or flour to satisfy our hunger.” (Al Jazeera Live)
