Today, Sunday, the Arab world and Egypt are awaiting a prominent astronomical event represented in the total eclipse of the moon, which lasts more than five hours and is considered one of the most prominent astronomical phenomena for this year.
The National Institute for Astronomical Research called on the Egyptian public to participate in the monitoring activities at its headquarters in Helwan from sunset until eleven at night, where lectures and seminars were allocated to explain the details of the phenomenon. According to the institute, the eclipse stages begin at 6:28 pm by entering the moon, the semi -shadow area, to complete the total eclipse at 8:31 pm and its peak is at 9:12 pm, while the phenomenon ends completely at 11:55 pm. It exceeds 136%. In the religious context, the Ministry of Awqaf announced the establishment of the eclipse prayer in all major mosques in the country to revive the Prophet’s Sunnah, stressing that the prayer performs two rak’ahs in a group or individual, without the call to prayer, followed by a sermon to remind people of the greatness and ability of the Creator.
