The Israeli government approved a wide reduction in the budgets of ministries and the coalition, with the aim of financing an increase of 30.8 billion shekels in the defense budget, in light of the continued military operations in the Gaza Strip and tensions with Iran.

Under this decision, the financial deficit increased from 4.9% to 5.2%. This procedure has sparked sharp controversy within the government, especially between the Minister of Finance in Salail Smotrich and many prominent ministers, including Etamar bin Ghafir and Yawaf Kish, who criticized the deductions, considering that the money directed at Gaza negatively affects internal security and education in Israel.
