This is what the Health Committee discussed at its session today

The Parliamentary Health and Social Affairs Committee held today a session headed by Representative Bilal Abdullah, in the presence of members and representatives of the relevant departments, to discuss four main items on its agenda.
Abdullah explained after the session that the first item dealt with a proposal submitted by Representative George Aqis related to the performance of the profession of physical therapists and its controls and the licensing of the centers. The topic was discussed with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Health, the unions of physical therapists, Beirut and Tripoli doctors, and the notes were recorded, with the Ministry of Health granting a two -week period to work on setting technical controls in coordination with the unions, provided that the proposal is presented to approval at the next meeting. Abdullah affirmed the committee’s keenness to determine a reasonable allowance for the physical therapist. As for the second item, it was a legal proposal submitted by the deputies Qasim Hashem, Fadi Alama and Haider Nasser related to allowing the doctors to nominate for a second term, and the committee decided after evaluating all aspects, and in consultation with the unions, not to agree to the proposal. In the third item, Abdullah offered his personal proposal related to practicing the pharmacy profession and amending some laws To enable Lebanese factories to manufacture the external investor within specific controls, as is the case in many countries. It was agreed to discuss this issue extensively in the Ministry of Health within two weeks. Finally, the fourth item dealt with the issue of achieving justice for doctors and dentists in the state employees’ cooperative, provided by Representative Jimmy Jabour, with the aim of correcting compensation that was not given fairly after their service ended, with an agreement to follow up on the search for a formula that achieves justice for them.
