The opening of the judicial year today: the independence and anti -corruption test

The patronage of the President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, in the presence of the staff of the state, is the opening of the judicial year with an official mass celebration held today at the Palace of Justice in Beirut, a very significant political and judicial message, reflecting a supportive position for the judiciary and its role, deciding on the outstanding files and launching the anti -corruption workshop away from the pressure and obstacles that disrupted the course of justice.

The new judicial year begins amid major challenges facing the judiciary and its ability to address difficult and complex files, especially since the appointments that included all the vacant sites in the hierarchy of the judiciary, and the comprehensive judicial formations that were issued a month ago, disturbed all mines that have prevented in the past years without the judiciary. Rather, the state’s wrapping reflects all its institutions about the judiciary, its independence, and its protection from political interventions that have always exhausted justice and brought it to paralysis and obstruction. A prominent judicial reference confirms that “the judiciary is about to promising a promising stage.”
He explains that it is “the first time since the end of the civil war that the judiciary feels free from the grip of the people of power, and this is what has been established with two issues: the first appointments in sensitive judicial sites, and the choice of the appropriate judge for the appropriate place, and the other to issue judicial formations, in the form that the Supreme Judicial Council set in its entirety, without the political authority requesting any amendments to it, or even noting notes,” considering that “the performance of the judges will be in the next stage.” It is subject to accurate monitoring and follow -up from the Judicial Council and the Judicial Inspection Authority, so that they succeed in the examination of the Lebanese confidence in the Justice Corporation.
All previous covenants and successive ministerial statements have announced their commitment to support the judiciary, but the practice did not conform to absolutely with pledges, and the judicial reference admits that “the battle of the judiciary in the face of corruption is not easy at all, especially since corruption files are used to be covered by the political cover, but the existing situation preaches to entering the judiciary a new stage.”
And he stresses that «the file of the Beirut Port Exploration represents the peak of the challenge of the role of justice in Lebanon, as there are many mines facing the mission of the Judicial Detective Judge Tariq Al -Bitar, most notably dozens of lawsuits that are still in place and have not been decided.
He points out that «the General Authority of the Court of Discrimination began with successive sessions every Monday to decide on cases of quarrels in Al -Bitar, and that the courts of discrimination are in front of its responsibilities to adjudicate the claims of response and transportation that were held against Al -Bitar, to allow the latter to issue his accusation as soon as possible.
