The Ministry of Finance in Lebanon today, in cooperation with the Financial Affairs Department of the International Monetary Fund (FAD), launched a road map for the digital transformation in the tax administration, which extends from 8 to 23 September 2025, during a working meeting chaired by the Minister of Finance Yassin Jaber and attended by the Ministry of Finance Director of the Finance of the Year George Maarawi, managers, consultants and experts concerned in Eslette and a team of specialized experts.
Minister Jaber affirmed the keenness that the efforts that will be made throughout this period are tangible consequences as soon as possible, which contributes to enhancing transparency, poor quality of services for citizens. Specialized sessions work focuses on developing a practical plan for digital transformation based on international best practices, taking into account the challenges related to the Lebanese reality. The mission will conduct a series of meetings, workshops attended by the Minister of Finance, Officials of the tax administration, technical centers in the ministry, representatives of the private sector and international development partners, including the World Bank, the European Union, the United Nations Development Program and the French embassy. Provided that the mission concludes its work by displaying a road map for digital transformation and a memorandum of understanding to the Ministry of Finance, in preparation for the start of the implementation steps.
