The heat wave turns into a “time bomb” … a “high -dialect” warning!

In light of the intense heat wave that has been hitting Lebanon for days, which is expected to intensify more during the next two days to touch the temperatures of the threshold of forty degrees Celsius and above in a number of regions, fears of fires escalate in various regions, especially in sensitive sites such as fuel stations and warehouses.

In this context, the head of the Syndicate of Fuel Stations in Lebanon, George Al -Brax, made an urgent appeal to all the owners of the stations and its employees, in which he asked them to raise the level of readiness and tighten public safety procedures, in order to preserve lives and property, and in order to avoid any incident that may turn into a disaster.

In an interview with “Libyan Deepite”, Al -Brax said that harsh climatic conditions and high temperatures have greatly doubled the possibilities of fuel -related accidents, whether in terms of the risk of ignition or leaks, which requires maximum caution and strict commitment to prevention procedures.

He pointed out that the responsibility begins to completely prevent smoking on the campus and surrounding the clock campus, and to ensure that the entire car engines are extinguished during the packing process, and not to fill fuel tanks excessively to avoid gasoline spill, in addition to ensuring that the tank cover is closed after completion. He also stressed the prevention of filling in the gallons or storing it in closed and hot places or under the sun, because of the danger of an explosion or ignition.

The Brax touched on the procedures that must be followed when emptying fuel from the tanks, and in the forefront of which is isolated the area from passers -by, providing fire extinguishers alongside the supervisors of the operation, and preventing the use of mobile phones during discharge or packing. He also called for the processing of fuel stations with water spraying equipment when needed to cool the station’s land or combat any fire, and to ensure that the extinguishers are sufficient and suitable for use, and that all workers are aware of their use in the correct way.

He warned of the dangers of maintenance workshops inside the stations, especially when carrying out iron welding or electricity welding work, stressing the need to maintain energy generators to prevent high temperatures, and to remove the exits of casserole venting the tanks from any heat source. He also drew attention to the necessity of monitoring the rooms and bathrooms of workers and heating devices and cooking in them, rationalizing water consumption, and collecting the mineral oils used in a special contract to deliver them to the competent authorities instead of throwing them into the sewage ducts.

Al -Brax concluded by stressing that adhering to these preventive measures is not a luxury or option, but rather a professional and humanitarian duty, warning that any complacency or recklessness may be disastrous consequences in the shadow of the hot weather that Lebanon is currently experiencing, calling on all those concerned in the sector to deal with the current stage in the utmost seriousness and responsibility.
