The head of the Monastery of St. Sarkis and Bacchus in Qurtuba, Father Charbel Beiruti, chaired a festive mass on the occasion of the two martyrs ’feasts, with the participation of a number of monks and the attendance of the activities of the municipality and the people of the town. Beiruti gave a sermon in which he stressed that Sarkis and Bakhos chose to testify to the denial of faith, considering that true faith is translated into the situation and testimony, not only by words.
He pointed out that the Monastery of Mar Sarkis and Bacchus, affiliated with the Lebanese Maronite monastic monasticism, has witnessed for more than two hundred years of faith, prayer and the service of people, and that the monks have always been part of the lives of the people of Qurtuba in their joys and sorrows.
