Shehadeh: Establishing a Ministry of Technology and Artificial Intelligence a strategic step

The Minister of Displacement and the Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Kamal Shehadeh, announced that the current Ministry of State has been transformed into a self -list of technology and artificial intelligence, in a historical step that is the first since the establishment of the Ministry of Displacement in 1993. Shehadeh expressed his great gratitude and appreciation for the confidence of the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers after the approval of the law.
Shehadeh stressed that this decision is not just an administrative amendment, but rather a strategic step that expresses a clear political will to invest in the future of Lebanon and build an economy based on knowledge, technology and digital transformation. He added that the new ministry will not be traditional, but rather a driver for creativity and innovation and a bridge between the public and private sectors, and a center for the development of national digital policies in cooperation with all ministries and educational and economic institutions. He pointed out that the ministry will contribute to addressing many challenges through smart solutions that include sectors: health, education, agriculture, transportation, services, and governance. Artificial intelligence in the public and private sectors, taking into account the needs of people with special needs and minors, setting organizational and legislative frameworks to support digital transformation and transfer to smart administration, strengthen partnership with the private sector and technology companies and academic institutions to accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship, launch a unified digital platform for public services to facilitate the provision of services to citizens, establish an integrated legislative environment to regulate the work of digital technology and intelligence Artificial, combating cyber crimes, protecting personal data, enhancing confidence in digital systems, supporting the digital economy through training and providing job opportunities and investing in the fields of technology, ensuring compatibility with international standards in the fields of technology and artificial intelligence, setting controls to prevent misuse of these technologies, representing Lebanon in the relevant international organizations, signing cooperation agreements with countries and companies to exchange data and experiences, joining global initiatives concerned with technology The moral and responsible, attracting local and international investors and strengthening the position of Lebanon as a destination for the future industries. Shehadeh concluded: “Lebanon, the history of the minds of its children and its creators at home and alienation, deserves to be in a global pioneering site in the field of technology. Transforming the ministry into an independent entity is the beginning of the road towards this ambition.”
