Salam: The army is for all Lebanese

Prime Minister Dr. Nawwaf Salam in Al -Saraya today received a member of the American Congress, Representative Darren Lahoud, accompanied by a member of Congress, MP Steve Cohen, in the presence of the United States Ambassador in Beirut, Mrs. Lisa Johnson and the accompanying delegation.

Lahoud noted the measures that the Lebanese government has made to date to extend the state’s authority over its entire lands and limit weapons in its hands, in addition to the ongoing judicial and financial reforms, considering that these steps contribute to restoring the confidence of the international community in Lebanon. He stressed that the Lebanese army plays a fundamental role in enhancing security and stability, stressing its continuous endeavor within the US Congress to ensure the continued support of the army. He also affirmed that the Lebanese army is an army for all Lebanese, and that its support and providing it with the necessary capabilities constitute a basic pillar to enhance security and stability.
