Quick reading in the Doha summit statement

Salah Salam wrote in “Major General”: The assessments of the closing statement issued by the Arab and Islamic Summit in Doha varied, because of the strong messages it carried in some of his items, and the reflected hesitation in another. The summit is calculated first at the strengths, the unity of the Arab and Islamic position in condemning the Israeli Adwan, but the statement was not without weaknesses that eased its impact. It came free from any practical steps that press Israel or its supporters, contented with the language of condemnation and reminder of international conventions.
The closing statement of the Doha Summit succeeded in confirming the unity of the Arab and Islamic position in political condemnation and adherence to the principles, but it failed to provide practical tools for deterrence and pressure. Perhaps the biggest challenge lies in the post -statement: Will the capitals translate the summit decisions into a coherent diplomatic and economic work path that transforms the phrase “non -impunity” into practical steps, or does the statement remain a moral position added to a long record of the summit data in denunciation and condemnation.
