Promising opportunities for growth in trade exchange between Lebanon and Indonesia

The Beirut Chamber and Mount Lebanon, in cooperation with the Indonesian embassy in Beirut, organized the “Indonesian-Lebanese Business Forum”, with the participation of the representative of the Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Al-Bassat, head of the Ministry of Foreign Trade Department in the ministry, Zina Movement, the Ambassador of Indonesia Dick Kumer and Vice President of the Chamber, Nabil Fahd, in the presence of economic activities and businessmen.
The forum included a presentation on investment and business opportunities in Indonesia, and dialogue sessions in which a number of representatives of economic sectors from both countries participated. The discussions also highlighted the priority sectors in the two countries.
The representative of the Minister of Economy stressed “the importance of the forum, which is held at a time in which Lebanon needs to join efforts and coordination for the re -advancement and put the economy again on a sustainable path,” noting that “the economic and financial system in Lebanon has faced deep shocks, and that recovery requires commitment and political coordination and a unified vision, and that with the correct reforms and strong partnerships it is possible to achieve the goal.” She said: “We are in the Ministry of Economy. To create the appropriate conditions that enable the private sector to lead growth, by reducing the cost of production and enhancing competitiveness, restoring cash stability, supporting medium and small institutions, fighting the illegal economy and facilitating trade and investment. “Lebanon has basic pillars, the most important of which is a private and flexible private sector, a workforce that has high skills, and expatriate communities involved in trade, investment and knowledge transfer. With the financial system and the correct partnerships, these pillars would achieve the desired prosperity.” (National Agency)
