Ortigos began visiting Beirut for hours .. Bin Farhan renews the claim to complete the reforms

The presence of the Saudi delegate, adviser to the Saudi foreign minister in charge of the Lebanese file, Prince Yazid bin Farhan, to Beirut, and the American delegate Morgan Ortagus in Beirut, coincided with the meeting of the Committee for the Supervisory Committee to implement the agreement to stop hostilities between Lebanon and Israel today in Naqura, gained important indications of the Lebanese situation from the basic external follow -up from the influential countries such as the United States of America and Saudi Arabia.
Bin Farhan continues his meetings with Lebanese officials, away from the media. After holding a tour of the talks on Friday night with the President of the Republic before his travel to New York, and he was reported to him that he conveyed a message from the Saudi leadership, he met yesterday a number of deputies, ministers, ambassadors and political figures, and he was a guest at the dinner table at the house of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, to complete his tour today and conclude with a meeting with the Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
The sources of the “Call of the National” stated that Prince Yazid bin Farhan renewed in his meetings the position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of Lebanon’s decision to move forward in implementing the plan to inventory weapons and complete the required reforms, in a way that encourages Arab investors to resume their businesses and projects in Lebanon.
Al -Nahar wrote that Bin Farhan remains in Lebanon for several days, during which Prime Minister Nawaf Salam will meet and that yesterday he met a large number of deputies and personalities, including the assistant of President Nabih Berri Ali Hassan Khalil, and a phone call was made between him and Berri. Bin Farhan will also participate next Tuesday on the occasion of the Kingdom’s National Day in a reception for the Saudi embassy at the Venice Hotel. In the context, information was reported about the possibility of his meeting with the American envoy Morgan Ortigos during her quick visit to Lebanon, which is limited today to her participation in the meeting of the “Mechanism” committee in Naqura.
Ortigos, whose journey in Lebanon for the third time in a short period (came with Barak and then the Commander of the Central Region), this time also chooses to limit her agenda to technical military affairs away from any political meetings, which reflects an accurate American awareness of the nature of the current Lebanese stage tied with internal divisions and external benefits.
According to informed circles, the visit of Ortigos will not break the existing state of tradition, but rather the feeling that the political path is closed, while the technical military track alone continues through the Military Monitoring Committee known as mechanism.
The circles added, “The Ortigos meeting with this committee for the second time indicates that the United States is seeking to stabilize the rules of field engagement and prevent security insecurity, in order to prevent slipping into a comprehensive confrontation with Israel, or an additional cracking in the Lebanese interior.” This American approach is consistent with its traditional priorities in the region, which is to maintain a relative stability that allows the passing of its major projects, without entering into the details of local conflicts that seem complicated and stick to the solution. But it also reflects the conviction that any political settlement in Lebanon clashes directly with the dilemma of Hizbullah and its weapon, and this file, which Washington does not have a practical approach to dealing with it except the gradual pressure and linking the military aid to Lebanon to the army’s ability to enhance its presence.
