In a new step to enhance energy security and diversify its sources, Turkey announced the signing of an agreement with the British company “BP” to import liquidation natural gas, while it revealed that additional deals with “Shell” and Eni “on the way, to be officially announced during the” Tech Gas “conference in Milan this week.

Turkish Energy Minister Alp Arslan Bayrakdar explained via the “X” platform that the government gas company “Potash” will import about 1.6 billion cubic meters annually of liquefied gas from “BB” for a period of three years, without specifying the date of implementation. To reduce its great dependence on gas imports via pipelines from Russia, as the government plans to re -negotiate for long -term contracts with both Russia and Iran next year. At the same time, Turkey is working to strengthen its position as a commercial player in the energy market by obtaining flexible shipments that can be rested, in addition to plans to rent or buy a liquefied gas tankers to support this trend, according to previous reports to Bloomberg.
