Mikati and his family: We did not receive any notice from the French judicial authorities and we did not know what was rumored about an alleged opening of a judicial investigation except through the media.

President Naguib Mikati and the Mikati family issued the following statement:
The lawsuit submitted on April 2, 2024 before the French National Financial Prosecution (PNF) by the Sherba Association and other parties, requires us to clarify to put matters in its quorum.
The source of the wealth of the Mikati family is clear, legal and transparent, as it is the fruit of long contracts of work and international investments in various sectors, before we assumed any general tasks and responsibilities in Lebanon. This wealth has always come in line with the international standards of control. We have always cooperated with the competent authorities, and we provided all the necessary documents that prove the legality of our activities.
We confirm that we have not yet received any notice from the French judicial authorities, and we did not know what is rumored about a lawsuit or an alleged opening for a judicial investigation except through the media.
Of course, we are completely confident in the independence and seriousness of the French judiciary, and we are fully prepared to provide any additional information asking us. We renew our adherence to the basic principle represented by the presumption of innocence. We also condemn any political or opportunistic attempt to undermine our reputation by repeating allegations that were previously rejected by various judicial bodies, and we retain our full rights in terms of prosecution or prosecuting any participation in publishing and distributing misleading or defaming information.
