Lebanese cyclist Rafic Eid showcases his successful participation in the Dakar Rally 2025

Lebanese cyclist Rafic Eid presented during a press conference at the Automobile and Touring Club of Lebanon his successful participation in the Dakar Rally 2025 in Saudi Arabia.

In detail, Eid discussed the difficulties he faced during the world’s toughest desert race, a distance of 7,000 km, where he succeeded in being the only Middle Eastern cyclist to reach the finish line in ninth place in the veterans category.

It is worth noting that a large number of figures from various sectors attended the conference.

Lebanese international cyclist Rafic Eid continues his participation in the famous Dakar Desert Rally, which Saudi Arabia hosts until next Friday.

After 9 days since the start of the most famous and difficult rally in the world, specifically on January 3, Eid ranks 62nd in the provisional general ranking among 148 elite international cyclists experienced in driving on a desert track. The race witnessed several withdrawals by cyclists in the special stages for various reasons, while Eid remained steadfast.

Eid is participating in the race on a Yamaha Fantec 450 Rally (55 horsepower) motorcycle.

The total distance of the rally is 7706 km, of which 5146 km is the length of the special stages, knowing that the rally includes one demonstration stage and 12 special speed stages.
Eid ended the 2024 World Championship rounds in the best possible way, as he won the Veterans category title in the Dubai International Rally, the last round of the World Championship, adding more points “to his bag” and confirming his deserved second place in the final overall standings of the World Championship in a new personal achievement for him.
