Karaki: Towards a radical treatment away from temporary solutions

The Public Relations Directorate of the National Social Security Fund announced, in a statement, that the Hospital and Medical Study Committee held its first meeting at the main center of the Fund headed by the Director General of the Fund, Dr. Mohamed Karaki, and with the participation of representatives of the Ministries of Health and Labor, and the two doctors and hospitals, in addition to representatives of social security, the International Labor Organization, and the World Health Organization.
The statement pointed out that the meeting focused on “the importance of developing a study and reference plan to address the topic of hospital costs away from temporary solutions, provided that the guarantee and other guarantor governmental institutions depend on it, with the aim of developing medical and hospital identities in the medium and long term.” Where the Director General stressed “the necessity of adopting a comprehensive methodology to ensure the accuracy of the results and the transparency of the recommendations.” The meeting also stressed “the need to review the laws regulating social security, especially for the branch of illness and motherhood, to ensure the harmony of the study with the legal frameworks.” It was agreed that “the study is divided into four main stages: the stage of preparation, the stage of collection and data analysis, the stage of linking the results, the stage of auditing and final recommendations, with identification, with determination Time time to complete each stage, so that the full period does not exceed six months. The research touched on the mechanism of pricing the food so that it is linked to actual prices, inflation and the minimum wage, with the adoption of a flexible mechanism, in addition to a set of practical proposals, most notably:
– Adopting the pricing system for most medical services, taking into account quality and human factors to ensure a high level of care for patients.
– Follow -up post -treatment to ensure the quality and continuity of care and improve health results.
– Enhancing health protection and awareness programs, focusing on early prevention to reduce the need for costly treatment and improve public health.
Reconsidering the current pricing schedules and adjusting them to reflect the actual reality, inflation and modern costs.
– Reconsidering the coding and organizing the medical and hospital work schedules. Also, many ideas that will be studied depth to serve all parties have been presented, taking into account the technical, logistical and financial aspects. He noted that “some steps related to guarantee have already started (such as robotic surgery), and that the fund is open to any improved procedures or proposals that will reach the desired goal.” Karaki thanked all parties, especially the International Labor Organization that will fund the study, as well as the World Health Organization to benefit from its experiences in analysis and health studies. He stressed “the importance of intensifying these meetings, which reflects the commitment and seriousness of the authorities concerned with transparency and joint cooperation, building a solid base for studying hospitalization in a scientifically and systematically, in a manner that ensures the sustainability of health financing and improving the quality of services provided to citizens, and setting a radical solution to the issue of financial differences that doctors and hospitals from guaranteed patients.” Represented by its president, Asaad Al -Hariri, who praised the “steps and reform measures made by the guarantee,” stressing that it “contributed to raising the level of contentment and confidence among the content.” He praised the improvement in the health of the health and the new procedures that relieved employers, pointing to “the importance of seeking to pass a fair law for the end of service compensation”, pointing out that “these compensation has improved significantly after it lost part of its value in the past years.” Hariri concluded, stressing that “the National Social Security Fund is the only institution that gives today a positive and real dose for the Lebanese, in light of the difficult circumstances that are difficult The country is going through.
