Jaber discussed with Hani the status of the agricultural sector



Finance Minister Yassin Jaber discussed with the Minister of Agriculture Nizar Hani on issues that enhance the status of the agricultural sector in Lebanon and how to help him as a productive sector that can be developed to become an influential part of the GDP.
Jaber affirmed that “besides the budget allocated to the Ministry of Agriculture and facilitating the procedures for spending funds, the discussion focuses on activating the role of agricultural schools that train youth groups from farmers to support their installation in their land and secure a fixed source of income and is able to provide generous livelihoods, as well as activate the work of the green project and enhance its budget.”
Jaber pointed out that “work is underway to accelerate the implementation of the Get Agriculture Law, and in terms of transferring an amount of $ 50 million from this law to the guarantee institution, which will in cooperation with banks in various regions, securing agricultural loans that contribute to raising the level of services needed by farmers.”
Jaber had met the head of the deposit guarantee institution “guarantees” Khater Abi Habib, who discussed with him the procedures for activating the deposit guarantee institution, especially with the existing preparations to prepare the draft financial gap law and accelerate its completion to be ready in front of the government for approval as soon as it was completed.
