The Emirates 24 website reported that the American Wall Street Journal quoted dozens of Israeli officers and soldiers as saying that “many reserve soldiers have refused to return to service for reasons, including family pressures and the absence of confidence in the political leadership, in addition to immoral behavior against the Palestinians,” with Tel Aviv launched a military operation to occupy Gaza.

More than 30 Israeli officers and soldiers told the newspaper: “It is not possible to eliminate Hama because of her guerrilla warfare.”
The newspaper revealed that “the Israeli soldiers were exhausted about two years after the fighting on several fronts, while the number of those who wonder the viability of the war increases.” The newspaper added that some leaders have resorted to unusual methods to find a sufficient number of soldiers, as one of them announced the “WhatsApp” group for Israeli university students that he is looking for fighters, especially paramedics and snipers for a process that continues 70 days, and the Israeli army has adopted a more flexible service model, which allows the division of the service period into mutual weeks of work and comfort.
The first sergeant in the “Commando 98” band, who fought for 400 days since the war began, including in Gaza and Lebanon, said he believed that “people die in vain, and that Netanyahu prolongs the war for his political survival.”
The reserve soldiers whose current service was extended due to the operation expressed their frustration, as the Israeli army announced that it was planning to extend the service of 20 thousand reserve soldiers in the active service, in addition to 60 thousand soldiers who are currently calling for the army. Wall Street Journal revealed testimonies of soldiers who talked about serious incidents, including shooting at Palestinian civilians, and the absence of accountability due to a lack of cadres.
