Israel creates small Lebanon .. a camp inside an occupied land!

The Israeli newspaper “Yediot Aharonot” published a new report in which it spoke about a village located in the north of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, in which the Israeli army opened this month a huge training facility called “Little Lebanon”.
The report stated that this facility is a camp that simulates the nature of the villages in southern Lebanon, with the aim of training the army in the methods of Hizbullah’s maneuver in the land battles.
The Israeli army has worked to build the facility over the past two years, while the Commando Brigade’s fighters were one of the first Israeli fighters to see and trained in it.
The newspaper likened the establishment as “a northern version of the small Gaza facility”, an another training camp that has been at the base of Tsalim for two decades for the same purpose.
The newspaper quoted the head of the training branch in the ground forces, who is responsible for the training facility, Lt. Col. Zohar, as saying: “We have learned a lot of our successes and our failures in maneuver against Hizbullah last year, and this is the facility closest to reality,” the newspaper quoted the head of the training branch in the ground forces, and who is responsible for the training facility.
The presenter continued: “What was found in the facility simulates the nature that the soldiers noticed in the field (southern Lebanon), where there are shrubs, rocks, rough terrain, and buildings that reveal them from the top.”
Zohar pointed out that the recent confrontation with Hizbullah last September has earned Israeli fighters experience, saying: “In the past, we used to use senior leaders to explain the nature of southern Lebanon to the new fighters, but now most of the leaders and fighters in the army have experience in fighting in the lands of Al -A. and they come with high self -confidence. In this facility we try to expose them to all the emergency that can be all that can To speak on the northern square. ”
Zohar also indicated that during the last days, the tunnels were bombed on the Bouvort summit overlooking the Lebanese facility from about 8 kilometers.
According to the newspaper, the Israeli government spent “millions of shekels” in planning and laying the foundation stone for the facility during the past decade, but it faced many obstacles, most notably the existence of other priorities in the budget, neglecting the ground forces, as well as the difficulty of finding training facilities suitable for infantry, armored and engineering forces.
Unlike the “Small Gaza” facility, in which it is not allowed to launch live ammunition, soldiers in “Little Lebanon” can release live ammunition from their personal weapons and from the tanks that move next to them, including shells and machine guns. Also, the engineering forces can operate their D9 “on the wet ground” and detonate explosive devices.
The facility also includes dozens of cameras in the alleys, streets, and inside buildings for monitoring and evaluation after the end of the training, registration devices that allow soldiers and leaders to listen to the messages and orders they exchanged during the attacks, and other technological monitoring means to analyze the training, with the aim of benefiting from the weaknesses and strengths shown by the soldiers.
Besides, the facility contains dozens of buildings with different altitudes, starting from the Lebanese -style ground houses – inspired by the design of the maneuver that took place about a year ago – to buildings from three to four floors, in addition to tall buildings that soldiers may face in the upcoming maneuver in Lebanon, if they arrive in the towns of the south of the country and their maneuvers are not limited to the border villages.
In the context of his speech, Zohar says: “We will work on placing rubble between the buildings in the facility, and we allow snipers to shoot at targets as well, to train all components of the battle team. We have removed the rubble from the buildings of the Old Zaroura for this purpose.”
He adds: “We will be able to improve communication skills between leaders, and we conduct parallel battles between the companies, and we unite the forces. This training enhances the confidence of the fighters with their personal weapons, as well as what they will face.”
The newspaper indicates that the units and battalions will receive various exercises, such as the training of the Golani Brigade in exchange for the Kfir Brigade, due to the different types of weapons and platforms, as the officer added.
Also, the center is scheduled to take place next month, the first battalion training for the reserve forces, as part of their preparation for operations on the Lebanese border.
