In Germany, the arrest of a cell planned to attack Jewish goals

The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper revealed that the German authorities have seized a cell suspected of planning terrorist acts targeting Jewish institutions and Israeli targets in Germany. The statement issued by the Israeli Prime Minister’s office, on behalf of the Mossad, stated that this cell was revealed on Wednesday, and that three of its members were arrested in Berlin in close cooperation between the Mossad and German security and intelligence services.
The statement indicated that the detainees were linked to the purchase of firearms and ammunition, which are suspected of using them in carrying out assassinations targeting Israeli and Jewish targets. However, the Hama movement denied any relationship with the detainees, stressing that the allegations about their association with the movement are “baseless”. It is reported that this arrest comes within a series of operations carried out by Mossad in Europe in recent weeks, in cooperation with local authorities, and includes countries such as Austria, in the framework of efforts to monitor and limit potential threats against Israeli communities.
