Heikal meetings .. projects to improve refugee conditions



An important meeting was held by the Chairman of the Lebanese Palestinian Dialogue Committee, Ambassador Ramez Damascus, and the Director of “UNRWA” in Lebanon, Mrs. Dorothy Klaus, with the Lebanese Army Commander General Rudolph Heikal, according to an official statement, to “discuss basic projects aimed at improving the conditions of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.”
The statement stated that the meeting resulted in positive consensus, which included:
– Refreshing an official coordination mechanism to facilitate the introduction of building materials into the camps, allowing the people to proceed with the restoration and rehabilitation work.
– Emphasizing the completion of the project to rebuild Nahr Al -Bared camp, where 309 displaced families have been awaiting return.
– Agreeing to prepare a comprehensive economic feasibility study that benefits Palestinian and Lebanese societies in the Nahr al -Bared and the surrounding areas.
– Discussing the conditions of the Rashidiya camp in Tire, while stressing the protection of the beach and natural reserve, and the launch of projects to qualify housing and improve the infrastructure inside the camp. His cooperation, ”again, the commitment of the Dialogue Committee to continue the endeavors to improve the conditions of the lives of Palestinians, to preserve their human dignity, and to enhance their economic and social rights, in line with the department’s discourse and the ministerial statement, and confirms the role played by the committee in following up these issues.
