
For his part, Colossi stressed “the commitment of the UNIFIL peacekeepers daily to support the Lebanese army through joint patrols, exchange of information, and coordination of operations,” considering that “this step is very appropriate to ensure a safe and stable environment and facilitate the return of the displaced,” stressing “how UNIFIL contributes to enhancing cooperation between various local communities and enhancing the climate of dialogue and security.”
The statement stated that “the peacemakers of peace remain fully committed to the community of southern Lebanon, and they work to restore security and stability, and support the Lebanese armed forces in their deployment in the southern regions, and the complete implementation order of Resolution 1701 remains very important, and we urge all parties to refrain from any actions that may endanger fragile stability.”
