Europe re -confuses the papers with Iran .. Strong with sanctions and talk about the dialogue

In a new escalatory move against Tehran, the British government announced the imposition of a wide package on Iran, which included 71 additional names of individuals and entities related to the Iranian nuclear program, including high -ranking officials, financial institutions and major energy companies. Under the decision, they will be exposed to the freezing of assets, strict financial restrictions, and a ban on travel.
British sanctions came days after similar moves by the United Nations and the European Union, as the three European powers (Britain, France, Germany) re -launched the mechanism of re -imposing international sanctions on Iran in the Security Council, accusing them of violating its obligations in the 2015 nuclear agreement. This mechanism provides for the restoration of the full international sanctions in the event that Tehran is not committed to the terms of the agreement. Indeed, the United Nations imposed on Sunday again the prohibition of weapons and other sanctions on Iran because of its nuclear program, in a move that sparked the dissatisfaction of Tehran, which pledged a “harsh” response to what it described as illegal measures. In its aspect, the three European countries confirmed in a joint statement that the re -imposition of sanctions does not mean the end of the diplomatic path, stressing that “Commitment to dialogue is still in place,” and called on Iran to refrain from any escalatory steps and return to abide by international agreements. The 2015 agreement between Iran and the major countries (known as the joint comprehensive work plan) aimed at preventing Tehran from developing a nuclear bomb in exchange for a gradual lifting of international sanctions. However, the withdrawal of the United States from it in 2018 by a decision of former President Donald Trump, and the subsequent Iranian steps to reduce its obligations, made the agreement in a continuous crisis that has not yet been resolved. While Tehran insists that its nuclear program is dedicated to peaceful purposes, it is accused by Western capitals of seeking to possess nuclear military capabilities. With the tightening of new sanctions, tension in the region increases, amid fears that these measures will lead to a wider confrontation, in light of the stumbling of nuclear negotiations and the diminishing chances of reaching a compromise.
