Two people were killed and 6 others were injured during the maintenance of a major gas line in Egypt. The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum announced on Sunday evening that a report was received to the Petroleum Suez area of ​​a severe sound in the Balf Gas Complex in the Abu Sultan area of ​​Ismailia Governorate, east of Cairo, adding that the emergency teams were immediately directed to the site, where it was found that the accident occurred during the implementation of routine work to prepare the gas line in preparation for maintenance work.

The ministry explained that the sector in which the accident occurred was completely empty of gas before the start of the works, noting that when the technical teams arrived, the secession of the transmission trap from the line from the welding point. It confirmed that the accident did not affect the gas supply, given that the line in this area is already free of gas, stressing that it is following the situation closely and taking all necessary measures to investigate the accident.
