Beirut embraces the countryside .. The just market revives the craft and domestic food


In a vibrant atmosphere in Ashrafieh, the Fair Market was opened in the courtyard of BEMO, in the presence of French Ambassador Herve Magro and a number of prominent personalities. Visitors from families, friends and food lovers gathered to enjoy Lebanese handicrafts and cooking traditions, in an interactive experience that brought together rural producers and the city’s residents on one land.

The market that received families and food lovers, is located within the framework of the “Our Land” project, funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), and allows visitors to taste and buy authentic local products, with a focus on sustainable production and fair trade.

In this context, Ambassador Magro stressed that the market enhances agricultural and rural development in Lebanon by supporting local skills and knowledge.
For his part, Dr. Riyad Abji, Chairman of Bimo Bank, stressed that fair trade is a legitimate issue, calling on everyone to invest their resources in serving fair issues. While Samir Abdel -Malik, President of the Fair Trade Association in Lebanon, explained that the market enables rural societies and enhances their dignity and ability to withstand, and brings producers to consumers. The opening day included official words, honoring winning producers, tours of local products, and interactive workshops, to be an enjoyable experience for all family members.
The market continues every Saturday until October 25, providing an opportunity to see the traditional crafts and communicate with Lebanese producers in a vibrant atmosphere.
