Beirut Airport achieves a qualitative leap .. About a million passengers in August

The movement of Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut showed a remarkable activity during the month of August, as the number of passengers who used the airport increased by 39 percent, reaching nearly one million passengers in the eighth month, recording a significant increase compared to last year. The general total of passengers increased through the airport from the beginning of the year 2025 until the end of August to four million and 802 thousand and 38 passengers, an increase of about 9 percent over the same period in the previous year.
The flights also increased by 24 percent to reach 6634 flights in both directions from Lebanon and to him, which reflects an exceptional vitality of the air movement in this season. The airport movement was distributed during the month of August 2025 as follows:
The total number of passengers reached 929 thousand and 815 passengers (an increase of 38.94 percent from August 2024).
The number of expatriates to Lebanon increased by 60.25 percent, recording 397,517 passengers (compared to 248 thousand and 49 passengers in August 2024).
The number of departures increased by 26.43 percent to 532 thousand and 274 passengers (compared to 420 thousand and 978 passengers in August 2024).
– As for transit passengers, their number declined by 87.16 percent, to record only 24 passengers. As for the total flights of national, Arab and foreign airlines that used the airport during August, it reached 6634 flights (an increase of 24.81 percent), of which 3318 arrival flights to Lebanon (an increase of 24.87 percent), and 3316 boot flights from Lebanon (an increase of 24.75 percent). The general total of passengers rises through the airport from the beginning of the year until the end of the eighth month to four million and 802 thousand and 38 passengers, compared to four million and 420 thousand and 213 passengers in the same period last year, an increase of 8.63 percent.
