In the context of its follow -up to combat corruption and preserving public money, the investigations conducted by the Beirut Port Office in State Security revealed serious financial violations within the port administration, which was not collecting bills related to the work of areas, water and electricity fees several years ago, whose value was estimated at more than a million US dollars, some companies invested in the port refrained from paying them.
Investigations also showed the existence of neglect and negligence by a number of port administration employees in issuing these bills and collecting them for the benefit of the public treasury, which allowed a number of companies to evade the payment of dues on them. And on the reference of the Public Prosecution Financial, the necessary legal measures were taken, so the bills were issued and documented according to the assets, and obligated the companies concerned to pay the amounts arising from them and submit patents Financial liability to the investigation.
