Aoun to Ludrien: We continue to implement the plan to withdraw the weapon completely

The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, expressed his gratitude to French President Emmanuel Macron for his role in preparing for the convening of two international conferences, one to support the Lebanese army and the other for reconstruction, stressing that Lebanon is continuing the path of economic and financial reforms, not only in response to international demands, but also to a firm Lebanese conviction that reform is the basic entrance to the economic advancement.
During his reception of the French presidential envoy, former Minister Jean -Yves Ludrian, in the presence of the French Ambassador in Beirut, Herve Magro, President Aoun affirmed that the government is working on the completion of the “Financial Gap” bill during the month of September to refer it to the House Litani, to withdraw all armed manifestations from the Lebanese and Palestinian parties, but the continuation of the Israeli operation of a number of Lebanese territory prevents the completion of the proliferation to the international borders. He explained that Tel Aviv has not yet adhered to the agreement announced on November 27, nor by Resolution 1701, and none of the Lebanese prisoners. He stressed that the army continues its work in various Lebanese territories, through checkpoints and inspection points, and with strict orders to confiscate any illegal weapons. He also stressed that the support of the army is equivalent to the importance of reconstruction, because it provides the security climate for investment and economic advancement. Ludrien, for his part, conveyed the greetings of President Macron, stressing the continued support of France for Lebanon, and revealing encouraging results of his recent contacts in Saudi Arabia, especially after the reform and security steps taken by Lebanon in August and September.
