Al -Khawsa Bishop Franjieh: Let’s live on the logic of the cross and the logic of love

After the gospel, he gave a sermon in which he spoke about the meanings of the occasion and said: “Today’s gospel calls us to be like a wheat grain, which if it does not go to the ground and the bird is eaten and destroyed. We often enter the church as if it is a duty, not to say: “O Lord, reveal to us your will.” While our fathers and grandparents were entering the church to ask God to show them his will. Death from desires, from the love of money, on selfishness, from hatred, and the misunderstanding of people, is our way to glory. Look at how the world has become today: wars, tears, orphans, and the mothers of the bereaved from Ukraine to Palestine, while humanity is one body: If a member suffers from the whole body, the whole body. If you have something on your brother, go to him and say to him, and do not leave your heart to hatred. Let us remember the lost son who said: “I am up and go.” Each of us is called to rise and go every day when he reads the Bible or the lives of the saints. There is no comfort for a person away from God, as happened with the rich who rested in his earthly life, but he was tormented after his death because he forgot the poor Lazarus. The choice with our hands: either we live for others, we rejoice with them there, or we live for ourselves, so we will be tormented. The logic of love, in our life, triumphs in our sayings, in our decisions, and in our views of each other.
