A statement by the Press Editorial Syndicate .. This is what it stated

A statement issued by the Lebanese Press Press Syndicate, stating the following:
“In the midst of talking about the proposal of the media law that is being studied in the Parliamentary Management and Justice Committee, the following Lebanese Press Union concerns the following: 1- The Lebanese Press Editors Syndicate is with a comprehensive, modern media law, which meets all conditions of modernity and establishes national media. We will not allow it to return whatever the reasons and excuses.
Law No. 330 dated 18-5-1994, which the Editorial Syndicate had the honor to contribute to its issuance, canceled the penalty of imprisonment and reserve arrest in all publications crimes, and it cannot be accepted with what is below it. By law, and enjoy the reference representative of journalists and media workers, the representatives of the press and media sector in the National Media Authority to be established under the proposal of the law. The union will not accept that this authority and this role for any other body or party. 4 – The union will remain a lookout for every attempt to undermine the freedom of the journalist and the media and will not accept to circumvent the legal articles guaranteeing this freedom.
