A sports legend declares his bankruptcy after the accumulation of debt!

The London Supreme Court announced on Tuesday that the bankruptcy of the former Liverpool and England player John Barnes, 61, on September 23, after the accumulation of the debts of his media company John Barnes Media to reach 1.5 million pounds, and the official notification was published in the London Gazette.
Barnes had previously been prevented from assuming any administrative position for three and a half years due to these debts. The amounts due include: 776,878 pounds for British taxes, 461,849 pounds for non -guaranteed creditors, and 226 thousand pounds as managers loan, in addition to 56,535 pounds liquidation costs. He was able to pay only 60 thousand pounds in an installment plan for the managers loan.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first time that Barnes has faced bankruptcy, as he has received six separate requests since 2010. His company had entered the liquidation stage two years ago after failing to pay taxes exceeding 190 thousand pounds, despite achieving revenues of 441,798 pounds between November 2018 and October 2020.
Barnes played 79 international matches with England between 1983 and 1995, and has not yet been indicated by any official comment on the bankruptcy decision.
