During the annual DevDay 2025 developer conference, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, announced the ability to connect external applications directly to the GPT chatbot, enabling users to interact with these applications and request their services from the same chat window.
The list of linked applications currently includes “Coursera,” “Canva,” and “Zillow,” while “Booking.com” and “Spotify” are expected to be added soon.
Altman said that some applications will be available starting the same day, stressing that this step will allow developers to expand their products quickly. He added that GPT chat now reaches 800 million active users weekly, which reflects increased reliance on it by consumers, companies and governments.
