A jump in Egyptian food industries exports to Russia



Egypt aims to increase its exports of agricultural crops and food industries in significant proportions to Russia this year in the context of developing the Russian -Egyptian cooperation relations.

The Assistant Minister of Agriculture for Services and Follow -up, Ahmed Adam, confirmed that the Egyptian potato exports recorded a record level this year by exceeding 1.3 million tons, an increase of more than 600 thousand tons over the previous season. He pointed out that Russia alone absorbed nearly half a million tons of these exports, compared to less than 200 thousand tons last year, which represents a growth exceeding 20%. On the other hand, Abdel Hamid Al -Demerdash, head of the Export Council for Agricultural Crops, revealed that Russia tops the list of Egyptian agricultural crops with the size of exports amounting to one million tons worth 570 million dollars until the end of July 2025. He explained that relations with the Russian market are stable for more than two decades, With direct communication channels between the agricultural stone authorities in the two countries. In a related context, Tamim Al -Dawi, Deputy Executive Director of the Export Council for Food Industries, expected the sector’s exports to Russia by 50% to reach 129 million dollars at the end of 2025. He added that the exports of food industries jumped 53% during the first half of 2025 to record 64 million dollars. 11.7% during the first half of 2025, according to the data of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics. Egyptian exports to Russia increased by 42.6% to reach 549.4 million dollars, while imports from Russia decreased by 18.3%. (Seventh Day)
