A famous supermarket sells expired materials … a video that documents the violation and the Ministry of Economy moves!

One of the citizens in the Spence Branch in Beirut, today, August 2, 2025, monitored foodstuffs consisting of dairy inside the refrigerators whose validity ended since August 1, and he still sells them naturally to citizens, and documented this in a video provided by the “Libyan Deepite” website, which showed that the citizen went to the box to make sure that they were selling the expired materials naturally, and it was sold to him and took a bill for it.

The aforementioned citizen is in the process of submitting an official complaint to the consumer protection in the Ministry of Economy through the application that the Ministry put in the service of citizens to file any complaint of this type.

Since the sale of expired materials is a matter punishable by law, “Leibon Deepite” contacted the Director General of the Ministry of Economy Mohamed Abu Haider and provided him with the aforementioned video, and after reviewing it, he confirmed that on Tuesday he will initiate observers to all the branches of the institution (because Monday is an official holiday), and considered that the mentioned institution will not remain on the expired goods in its innovations after the publication of this report.

But he pledged to send observers periodically weekly to all its branches to control any violation of this type, and therefore they can be monitored continuously.

He stressed that this matter will be followed not only because of this product specifically, and the consumer protection directorate has been asked to follow up on all branches of the institution, especially with regard to the issue of dairy and cheese, because the validity period of these products is very narrow.

He asked this citizen and other citizens to file complaints on the application that the Ministry has created for this purpose, which works for 24 hours, which made every citizen an observer, and allows the complaint to be monitored, its path and those who are achieved, and later communicated a message about the outcome of the investigation in terms of transparency in the work of the ministry.

He expressed his willingness to pursue any complaint of this kind to the end, because the health of the citizen can never be compromised.
