The Travel and Tourism and Travel Offices Syndicate (Attal) has signed a cooperation agreement with the company Qrowntech, which specializes in digital solutions to launch the QR Code on travel tickets and tourism packages. This procedure came with the aim of combating tickets and forged packages, and reducing the fraud that citizens are exposed to through fake pages on social media platforms or impersonators of travel companies.
Captain Jean Abboud emphasized that the new technology will allow the traveler to verify the authenticity of the ticket or the package easily and quickly through a unique QR code that guarantees credibility and transparency, indicating that the system was designed to be effective without carrying companies or travelers additional financial burdens. He added that this step is a basic station within the union’s strategy to enhance confidence in the sector and ensure a safe and reliable travel experience for all citizens.
