Fadi Karam: It is time to restrict arms in the hands of the Lebanese state

In his interview with the “Voice of Lebanon” program, Representative Fadi Karam said that the positions of the American delegate to Lebanon, Tom Barak, do not need justification, as it reflects the reality as the international community sees.
Karam stressed that the time has come to take actual executive steps to restrict arms in the hands of the Lebanese state, stressing that the continuation of statements without concrete actions is no longer acceptable. He added that Israel is currently fighting what it considers a “existential war”, and will not accept formal settlements as happened in the past, pointing out that the only way to ensure the protection of Lebanon is by implementing the exclusive weapon in a practical and rapid way. In the matter of election of the 128 Lebanese deputies from the expatriates, Karam considered that the battle is still continuing within Parliament, describing the prevention of expatriates from fully participating in the elections as a political injustice against the Lebanese abroad, Accusing the opposition party of linking Lebanon and the Iranian project and loading it with security and economic burdens that increase the migration of the Lebanese from their homeland.
