Aoun: The plan to withdraw the weapon was placed to be carried out

The Secretary -General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, praised the role played by the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun and the Lebanese government, “in order for the Lebanese state to have its only army and armed power in the country despite the difficulties”, and stressed that “the presence of UNIFIL for a year in southern Lebanon, confirms the United Nations commitment to maintain stability in this region and gives the Lebanese state a time to spread its army to the internationally recognized borders.”
For his part, President Aoun thanked the role that Guterres played in extending the UNIFIL state in the south, pointing out that the army is carrying out its duties in southern Litani and is awaiting the completion of its spread after the Israeli withdrawal from the hills and lands.
