The Supreme Elections Committee in Syria announced that the polling of the People’s Assembly elections will take place on Sunday, October 5 in the electoral districts in the Syrian governorates, based on the provisions of the constitutional declaration.
Today, the period of presenting appeals to the members of the elite bodies ended, while the committee chairman, Muhammad Taha Al -Ahmad, explained that the percentage of women’s participation in the elite bodies is at least 20 percent, while allowing the electoral process to be monitored by society and international organizations and ensuring the freedom to challenge the lists and results. He pointed to an increase in the number of seats in the People’s Assembly from 150 to 210 seats, provided that the Syrian President Ahmed Al -Sharai appoints 70 members, stressing the necessity of excluding Whoever stood with criminals or called for division, sectarianism and sectarianism.
